You may think that the employees of the U.S. Census Bureau are a bunch of data-counting and collating geeks. However, the Bureau shows its lighter side with “Population Bracketology,” an interactive data visualization that allows you to fill out your own bracket based on comparisons of state and metro area populations. The objective is to pick the larger population between two metro areas or states. See if you can get a perfect score of 63. The population comes from the Census Bureau’s recently released 2012 population estimates.
